Fat Is Not Your Fault? Huh?

We have become the blameless society. Nothing is ever your fault.
“I didn’t get the job. But it’s not my fault the interviewer didn’t like me”
“Yes, I hit the tree. But it’s not my fault the car just drove right off the road”

“I ran a company into the ground. But it’s not my fault! Now where’s my bailout money?”
Now we have a new diet plan:
The Fat Is Not Your Fault diet. No, really. Check it out here.
The whole premise of the diet plan seems to be that diet and exercise are not the key components of a weight loss plan. There are “other” factors just as, if not more, important. Of course you have to buy the plan to find out what those “other” factors are.
The program seems to have been designed by a real doctor, so I’m sure there’s alot of medical “evidence” backing the claims.
What’s next? The Wish Away Obesity diet?

JD,
Firstly, I love your website. I couldn’t agree more than anything worthwhile in life takes work.
I also completely agree with you that one of the major issues in our society is the inability for people to take responsibility for ourselves or our life. The amount of blaming and finger-pointing has reached epidemic proportions.
As the creator of Fat Is Not Your Fault, I would like to respond to a few of your comments.
Firstly, I make it quite clear on the website and in the program that if we are overweight, it IS our responsibility. And if you sit on the couch eating ding dongs while watching reruns of Everyone Loves Raymond, being fat is your fault.
On the other hand, is someone is following a good diet and exercise program, and are not getting the results they are looking for, there are legitimate reasons people have a hard time losing weight, beyond diet and exercise. If they aren’t aware of these issues, to me it’s not their fault.
Fat Is Not Your Fault is for the latter group of people - healthy, intelligent men and women who follow many of the right habits, but aren’t losing weight and are interested in taking responsibility for their health.
Since you mentioned them, the top reasons are included in the videos in the program - diet, exercise, attitude (the top three most important issues in any weight loss program), adrenal health, liver function (toxicity), gastrointestinal health, hormone balance, cellular health, neurotransmitter balance, and thyroid function.
If any of these systems are not functioning properly, weight loss will be difficult if not impossible. I see it in people all the time - they workout three times harder than anyone else, follow a nearly perfect diet, but they aren’t losing weight. It’s too lengthy to go into here, but I’m happy to talk with you about it or show you the program for a more adequate review.
Thanks for your time and again for helping people understand the value of putting forth effort towards anything worthwhile in life.
Be well,
Dr. Bryan Walsh
Good post Bryan. Taking responsibility, not blaiming one self, is the key point of loosing weight. Focus on solution not the problem…
